More and More is becoming known about gluten free foot

I had just been over one week without wheat products. I feel fine. I think I will stay with this program until, well , I don't know until when.

I do want other people who have conditions of health they can't solve, to try gluten free foods as their first line of defence.

4 days from gluten ingestion trial after 2 years

April 13. 2013

It is now 4 days after stopping gluten completely again.  I still can feel improvement from Tuesday when I ate a hamburger bun and all.

Because of this improvement I can testify how bad that day was.  I had eaten the bun around 2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday was when getting out of bed was hard.  I had almost zero energy.  My head hurt and I really was in a bad way.

Now I feel great, full of energy, the difference is remarkable.

I am so glad that situation is not permanent.  I wonder if that is how Alzheimers feels or dementia.  Hurts to think, can't move, don't want to move.  Confused.

So no more sneaking in that piece of pizza, garlic bread, cracker, cookie, etc.  I had slowly been eating that way leading up to the hamburger.

I am so convinced again, because of the clarity and energy now after stopping gluten.

Also I had not done anything different leading up to that day, so I attribute it to the only new thing I did,  the bun.

Sincerely,
Doreen

P.S.  Another part of this 2 year gluten free thing is people's reaction.  Oh its just in her head.  And as it turn out it IS.  And your head is running everything.

2013 GlutenFree update

I started going gluten free at the beginning of 2011.  I had been successful except every time I tried a wheat product I thought I had some minor symptoms, so I stayed away from gluten.

At Christmas 2012 I thought what the heck what better time to go off the Glutenfree diet.  There is always a plethora of food around on those days.

It didn't go well.  The first nite after a huge buffet meal including wheat buns, I had a major head ache.

So I stayed away from gluten product again for a while.

Then on January 2013 I then tried the odd piece of pizza , a cookie here, a cracker there, and leading up to  April 10 ate a MacDonald's cheeseburger bun and all.

The next morning and most of the next day was a very bad day for me.

I had a very weird head situation.  I was exhausted and thought about just resting all day.

Since that is not my character I attempted normal daily activities around my home.  I found it hard to even decide to brush my teeth or walk across tithe kitchen to get a coffee.

It was hard making simple decisions and thinking, I felt confused and unable to think normally.  The day improved a bit and I went for a walk in the fresh air cause that usually helps everything. The whole day was a write off and the next day I thought I was almost myself.  It is day three and I still have some residual weirdness.

I don't know what is happening to me, and is it something else?

Will stay off gluten anyway because of the bad reaction on that hamburger lush April day.

4 Months on a Gluten free diet. - Just the Facts

It has been 4 months since I went on a self imposed wheat free diet.  The main symptom which drove me there was pain, headache pain to be exact.

Within 2 days of taking gluten out of my diet, that symptom went away.  I am thrilled to say I have not had headaches like I had prior to going on this journey to try to help eliminate pain, headache pain.

Nothing else in my life has changed, I buy gluten free, and just avoid gluten.  It may be a challenge for some whose life revolves around food, but for me it was very easy.

I buy gluten free pastas, flours and mixes for all manner of cooking and baking.

I said I would continue on this journey for 6 months to really get a good idea of how being gluten free affects.  Because I have good results, why would I go back on a diet with wheat in it?

I don't want to go back.  For now I won't go back.

Also my digestion is better when I eat more veggtable product and exercise a lot.

Stitches not

I wanted to bead crochet. I got an assortment of beads. Made a few necklaces then realized not all beads fit this application. I will use them judiciously now, and back to stitching.  Then I got sidelined again, what with minus 20 temperatures and all.  So I tried a new pattern just for fun.

Still feeling ok

Just had a great food day, or days,  pancakes with sausage, eggs, strawberries, maple syrup.  Had ribs and potatoes. Off to an Oscar gig and champayne and snacks.  Should be good.  Its good to be gluten free.  I'll get the name of that flour for the pancakes.

Gluten roadblock

Making lobster shrimp lemon ravioli pasta for family, and corn elbow shells for me,
Ok, finished eating. Feel full from the corn pasta and sauce, but probably won't cook it again.
Had French beans and carrots as a starter. And milk, so I got a meal, but the ravioli really appealed to me.

Tomorrow will be 4 weeks without gluten. I at least dont't have the headache, so I will stick with the Glutenfree for more time and continue evaluating.

I have to quit taking breaks from the football toy.

crochet toy football in the works.
Baby blue mohair blend keyhole scarfette, knit

Decided to work on the football toy again and this is how far it has come.  A couple of steps left and voila. Those steps are sewing sections together, stuffing, and working finishing football detail.  Finished product picture to come.
I found this great scarf unfinished.  I will now do that, since making keyhole scarves is easy.  Keyhole scarfs reduce bulk and still keep the neck warm.  As well as this one, I am making one in blue mohair in lace pattern. About that football, and the shrug.  I will finished them, before spring, for sure.
This is a knit scarf by the way, I do both interchangeably.  It is a triple ribe, and basket weave stitch.  I will now make the keyhole and oila!  Ready for next winter, cause it is getting springlike here in Canada.
